Coachella streamed live on YouTube
Although not the first festival I’ve seen streamed live on YouTube, this live streaming has got some really lovely social interactions to accompany the music. You can tweet live, and shout out to friends on Facebook. You can also keep an eye on the line-up and watch highlights across 3 channels.
There must have been a massive media spend getting this up and running. I discovered it from an ad-bar along the top of all pages. Rumour has it, they have spent upwards of $120,000 a day. It may seem steep at first, but I’d be interested to see the number of eyeballs this buys you. My bet? Tens of millions of impressions.
This is live streaming done right and a showcase for future festivals of how to amplify their property moving forward.
It may not still be live when you read this, but see the channel for yourself here.
